The Scottish Rite Foundation of Texas is a public trust incorporated in 1955 to permanently hold contributions for investment and whose net income is used solely for the benefit of the Texas Scottish Rite Library and Museum "for benevolent and educational purposes." The Texas Scottish Rite Library and Museum building was erected by the Scottish Rite Masons of Texas in commemoration of the Centennial Year of Scottish Rite Masonry in Texas which was observed in 1967. The Scottish Rite Foundation of Texas supports and administers this state wide library and museum on a non-profit basis and relies solely on donations, gifts and contributions from Scottish Rite Masons, Masonic organizations, and the public.
